Our Commitment to the Environment and Health and Safety

We care about:

  • how waste is processed in New Zealand
  • the Health and Safety of all our staff (our customers and the public around our sites)

What Makes Davies a Step Above?

At Davies, we pride ourselves in looking after the environment we work in:

  • Davies will always, where possible, ensure we take care of the environmental aspects of the location we are working in. Minimising damage to the environment is a key aspiration to our business.
  • Recycling and reuse of water captured during operations (after processing or on-site)
  • Up to 90% of the water we use is recycled at our own facilities

Environmental Waste Processing

Davies looks after how your waste is processed to reduce landfill impact and assist in helping our environment.

Waste Processing and Disposal

  • Clean waste to landfill reduction by up to 80% of the volume recovered.
  • This material is processed by Davies, or we work in conjunction with specialist partners to reduce landfill content.
  • Contaminated waste is separated and sorted, either by Davies or our partners, to reduce the volume of landfill.
  • Davies Polymer separator:
  • Separates oils from water, which is then reused for our hydro business.
  • Recovered oils are sent for re-processing and, where applicable, reuse.
  • Minimises volume to landfill by up to 94%.
  • Davies use Separator pits to reduce landfill volume:
  • Solids can be recycled or repurposed.
  • Non-useable or recoverable solids are disposed of by specialists.
